GTA was well represented at the first Brazilian Congress in Precision Farming held in the Esalq University in the city of Piracicaba. For two and a half days participants were able to hear the latest news on precision farming and familiarise themselves with new tools and services which are now available to the Brazilian farmer. Over 230 participants attended the the event of which one third were farmers, one third researchers and one third service providers.
At the AGCO stand, Fieldstar, Auto-Guide, Falcon and SGIS were demonstrated and explained to the participants. The results of the Aquarius project were also shown by student s from the University of Santa Maria
During the event AGCO offered a Cocktail Dinner and congratulated the farmers involved in the ABC Foundation Project with a special prize for their contribution to the development of precision farming within Brazil.
Those who attended the event had the opportunity during the first day to choose between two parallel sessions discussing the latest precision farming research. On the second and third days, international lecturers and panels comrpising the main companies working with precision farming presented the situation and developments around the world and discussed the equipment available on the market for farmers and service providers.
