More than 120 people from farm equipment companies, electronic technology suppliers and research organizations participated in the first ISOBUS meeting which was held during the Agrishow in Ribeirão Preto.
It was organized by researchers from São Paulo University and Embrapa and was backed up by the national associations for farm equipment and machinery manfacturers as well as ABNT, a Brazilian version of ANSI. The meeting objective was to give the participants a high level idea of the ISO 11783 standard and suggest ways on how to implement it in South America.
Sam Freesmeyer, past chairman of NAIITF and GTA product development director spoke of the experiences in the introduction of ISOBUS in North America and Europe. The next meeting to define the actions to implement the standard will be held in the Brazilian Ag Enginnering congress in July.
