Training For Automatic Steering By Trimble
From 28th to 30th November 2005 at Usina Catanduva in the state of São Paulo, training sessions took place for Valtra’s automatic guidance, given to a group of technical instructors, engineers and users of the system. They chose Usina Catanduva as the location for the course as the group Virgolino de Oliveira has 22 Valtra BH180 tractors equipped with NavSat already in operation.
The training was divided into three parts, the first one focused on the installation, functions and system operation covering all the main guidance patterns like straight lines, pivots, contour and headland.
The second part explained the changes in the new system version and the new specifications on accuracy. The benefits were discussed and examples shown of how the system operates for more hours in a day with considerably less stress on the driver and how the technology translates to increased productivity for the farmer through more efficient utilisation of machines and staff.
The third part of the training provided hands-on experience on a new Valtra BH180. All participants had the chance to drive and calibrate the tractor and were able to experience the new technologies that are already being used on sugar cane fields.
AGCO was represented by product marketing and engineers from the Valtra brand and the AGCO Advanced Technology Solutions group.
